Catch Up Club - March

Today is the last day of March...which means it's time for CATCH UP CLUB!  What's that, you ask?  A group of friends and I were lamenting about how many kits and classes that we are behind in.  So we decided that the last day of the month we would post a newly completed card from a kit or a class.

So...without any further delays...here are my Catch Up cards for March:

Both cards are created from the "Let's Stamp Together" kit sent back in May of 2022.

The kit is called "Petal Prints" by Concord & 9th. I really like this set!

As mentioned last month, I have a lack of pink card stock. As a result this pale pink card stock doesn't really match any inks that I have. But this is the class design so I did the best that I could.

I had better luck with the second design. I have loads of greens, LOL.

The image is white embossed over a green circle. Both the circle and the kidney shape from the first card are included in the stencil for this set.

I liked the result with the green card stock so I created a different set of the first design for a swap on Split Coast Stampers.  Here's that design:

I cut an oval with a die, then used the panel as the mask.  Then I blended light pink to create the oval.  The stamp set includes the little speckles on a small stamp and that created the "splatters".

This set is really fun and versatile. I think the leaf branch could be great for masculine cards or a sympathy card. All in all, another great set via the Let's Stamp Together subscription by Scrapbook and Cards Today!

March Double Duty with Colorado Craft Company!

It's the 22nd and time for another Double Duty post!  On the 22nd of each month some of us challenge ourselves to create 2 different cards repeating the same image, sentiment, etc on each card.  We have a predetermined list of the stamp company or challenge for each month and then...away we go!

This month we feature Colorado Craft Company.  I chose their "Well Loved" set and matching dies. 

Here are my two cards:

The card with the dry embossed tree, flowers and heart shaped papers was the first card I made with the set. 

The bear is colored with Spectrum Noir markers, and the heart and sentiment are stamped with Cherry Red ink by Gina K Designs.  The flowers are by The Paper Studio and have been in my stash forever. 

For the second card, I stamped the bear with Memento's Rich Cocoa ink and sponged on Warm Cocoa and Sandy Beach inks by Gina K Designs. The heart was stamped with Gina K's Cherry Red, and both were die cut.

This card features Lost Lagoon card stock by Stampin' Up, black panels and scraps of designer paper that have also been in my stash a very long time!

The red heart gems are by Recollections, and you guessed it...have also been neglected for years in my embellishment box!

I confess to being a bit pleased that I used up so many old scraps and embellishments for this month's challenge.  

This set represents my first purchase from Colorado Crafts Company, and I can see me using this set often for my grandson!

Some Bunny Loves You!

Today is the 15th and that means we can reveal the Creative Crew Cards!  We're a group of friends over on Split Coast Stampers who have a monthly challenge. Each of us takes a turn creating the challenge, sending out the kits and we all get to create with what we've been sent. Here's my card:

Terry is our host for March and she sent us the "Some Bunny Loves You" kits.  Cute, right?!

Kit contents:

Images from the "Oh Bunny" set by Simon Says Stamp.
Papers are from her stash but included The Paper Studio and DCWV.
Embellishments included gems and sequins from her stash and some pearls by The Paper Studio.
Ribbons from Michaels Celebrate It.

The light blue paper in the kit is the background panel and the other papers are die cut using "Card Layer Dies 2" by Jaded Blossoms.

The bunnies and the "some bunny" banner were colored with Stampin' Up markers.  The little bunny tails are created with White Pops of Color by Scrapbook.com.

Terry, what a fun kit and I just love that you gave us a little kick start on Easter cards.  Of course, I think that this one will go to my new grandson, Jake!

Catching Up on The Catch Up Club!

"I'm late, I'm late...for a very important date!"  As the song goes from the original Alice in Wonderland soundtrack.  I had that LP back in about 1963, perhaps earlier...

At any rate, I refuse to catch up on Catch UP Club day, so I'm posting late for the Feb. 28th Catch Up Club!

This card features the "Let's Stamp Together" subscription kit from March, 2022.  Yes...a full year ago!

These subscriptions are the brain child of Scrapbook and Cards Today.  Every other month a complete set of exclusive stamps, dies and stencil are sent to us. We receive a link to an online tutorial with the company and join in live for the tutorial. Loads of fun!

This set is called "Hello Cupcake" and was created by Becky Moore from Photoplay Paper.    This is one of the cards that she demonstrated.

I did vary her color scheme a bit because I have a noticeable lack of pink card stock.  The main card is white, and Tempting Turquoise and some random scrap of pink card stocks are used.

The stencil included the confetti. Also deviating from the class design, I decided to apply Lush Pink Gilding Polish by Creative Expressions. When dried, the bits of confetti are raised, giving some texture to the card and band.

I also sprayed Glimmer Mist by A Muse Studios on the front panels. 

The cupcake and flowers are colored with Spectrum Noir markers and the white frosting is sparkly from a clear Wink of Stella pen.

And here's a look at the complete stamp set.  I can tell that I'll be using this set often.  It's very versatile!

Hot Mess = Success! (March)

Today is posting day for our Hot Mess = Success cards! This is the brain child of our dear Kelly. The idea is to create a card while getting messy. Any sort of mess will do, just as long as it stretches us creatively.

A while ago I purchased several colors of Metallic Gilding Polish by Creative Expressions. I decided to work with the Gold Treasure Gilding Polish and the Flip Flop Chevron Stencil by Simon Hurley.

I decided to use Concord Crush card stock by Stampin' Up. 

One panel the polish was applied with the dauber sponge by Scrapbook.com.  For the other panel I tried  the spatula tool by Nuvo.  You can definitely see the difference in the results.

I liked the results from the dauber better and made this card using that panel.

The panel is mounted onto gold foil card stock, and then layered onto Concord Crush card stock. 

The sentiment is by "Two Lips Stamps", a division of Polkadots,  Die cut and layered onto the gold foil card stock.  Gold gems from my stash finish off the card.

I would like to try again with the Gilding Polish and using the Nuvo spatula. I think perhaps a stencil that doesn't require lifting and flipping over to complete the pattern may give me a better result.  Maybe I'll give it a try for next month's Hot Mess Challenge.
