We are to make any sort of card we like, as long as a mess is made in the process. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">I decided to play with a variation on a card made in last weekend's virtual card classes during Stamp Joy, which is hosted by Taylored Expressions. </span><span style="font-family: verdana;">Here are my first and third attempts.</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinC5mKr88lgChBNCQm8Tjnkm3aLhwR4pBfGDkI1RbSgQwLjVihOcN1TXDLnOBS5m8FExawrONmANBKcxw7TTaxgigwoYcjWqwKXzfiN-f7FkvMIjwKux5-_pEv5IhkiQNgCaMuSR8aXYuY73xSOkCF3exiIfnR62F55J92oVE3kBeuvQ8pYdv-PDwSTqU/s3797/60B847BC-04F8-4E44-9BE0-BFCF1A8A2F4D_1_201_a.heic" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2550" data-original-width="3797" height="430" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinC5mKr88lgChBNCQm8Tjnkm3aLhwR4pBfGDkI1RbSgQwLjVihOcN1TXDLnOBS5m8FExawrONmANBKcxw7TTaxgigwoYcjWqwKXzfiN-f7FkvMIjwKux5-_pEv5IhkiQNgCaMuSR8aXYuY73xSOkCF3exiIfnR62F55J92oVE3kBeuvQ8pYdv-PDwSTqU/w640-h430/60B847BC-04F8-4E44-9BE0-BFCF1A8A2F4D_1_201_a.heic" width="640" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: large;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCwJmPm-GWZvHh4KHK5fo9qX0nZfC2i6Rta6AArlP1dOddHRJLF7hc7Xzi2_kuFCxoBk5zazWXi4hwj2JAOQ8HwvNyT1ZC8LAUessvuROfPz6YBA0YHQoffJRTUOw5s_LdsSa5f9wgDVUNMHJlKU1Faz3PNz8KO-BmCP0zJj-YY-x30s8ALrgrWvxt1AA/s1051/43F5D679-6926-46BA-83B4-D226C37F2651_1_105_c.jpeg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1051" data-original-width="747" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCwJmPm-GWZvHh4KHK5fo9qX0nZfC2i6Rta6AArlP1dOddHRJLF7hc7Xzi2_kuFCxoBk5zazWXi4hwj2JAOQ8HwvNyT1ZC8LAUessvuROfPz6YBA0YHQoffJRTUOw5s_LdsSa5f9wgDVUNMHJlKU1Faz3PNz8KO-BmCP0zJj-YY-x30s8ALrgrWvxt1AA/s320/43F5D679-6926-46BA-83B4-D226C37F2651_1_105_c.jpeg" width="227" /></a></div></div><div><br /></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;">Ink is applied directly to white card stock using ink pads. This time, using the same stencil I used Slippery When Wet (gold) Lunar Paste by Simon Hurley. Winner, winner, chicken dinner! <br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;">I left it to dry overnight also. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;">Both cards feature sentiments that were included in Taylored Expressions Stamp Joy kit. They're stamped onto a small piece of white with the same inks blended on to it. They are cut with a couple of dies from my stash.</span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;">These are flat, easy to mail cards. Currently I am going back to flat cards so it's easy to pop one into the mail.</span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;">What happened to my 2nd attempt, you ask? Well...let's just say it went wrong in so many ways. I wanted black polka dots on my blended panel. But I also wanted some shine. So I dug out some Raven (black) embossing powder by Brutus Monroe that also has glitter in it. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;">Now...I know better, but was in denial I guess 😂 When you ink blend a panel, the powder has a wicked preference of sticking to the paper, even though it's treated with a duster to prevent that issue. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;">When I lifted the stencil, there was so much black glitter everywhere on the panel that I just put it in the trash. While attempting to knock some of the powder off by flicking the backside of the panel, I sent the panel across my desk, and right through the loose black glitter/powder. HOT MESS.</span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgk1AdXzhPRYf373OMoYJ_DWD-kTe3uca81xeblo_WNTXg-xhRP9qwt6dlYj14GLw_YaCW0x96b1xALXvkx64DGn5DfhpTxpOIMr8CnAANiL0U5h2bOQM2B6Jwr6af7t7nbGP2_-hbvN01Tky3yFSkIKZ0OYlQMmfk7Ezt10wDn8ZDn4GXy48f-w3Xrr58/s2931/C37B2D0E-CFE4-466F-BDC3-62D34002D4EF_1_201_a.heic" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2931" data-original-width="2705" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgk1AdXzhPRYf373OMoYJ_DWD-kTe3uca81xeblo_WNTXg-xhRP9qwt6dlYj14GLw_YaCW0x96b1xALXvkx64DGn5DfhpTxpOIMr8CnAANiL0U5h2bOQM2B6Jwr6af7t7nbGP2_-hbvN01Tky3yFSkIKZ0OYlQMmfk7Ezt10wDn8ZDn4GXy48f-w3Xrr58/w184-h200/C37B2D0E-CFE4-466F-BDC3-62D34002D4EF_1_201_a.heic" width="184" /></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;">I actually had to tell myself to remain calm. Glitter gives me anxiety under the best circumstances...heavy sigh.</span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;">Later, after the mess had been cleaned up I was laughing to my friends at my rookie mistakes and subsequent panic attack.</span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;">This morning, Amazon dropped off this little Lady! Time to post our Creative Crew Challenge Card. This month Barb provided the theme: Snowmen. And since many of us are getting snow storms lately, it is a most appropriate theme!</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">Here's my card: <br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNq0PRaUWO_YgRYOh1acy4LDoTvTIn9ycm61iDWkmZxLQWhTlnRUkQuVdS4ojRh7BioQjiu-5-3vO25aqXlsNjRRKVdjD_Ys2aTLiFNVmoHLC6xFU0QW5o4c_p5N3LlYtSuDvbCjmc7hM2g_a9KqBR-x7CiR5ZVdbvnq7S0H7ys_10_p6MrLATxnI-58g/s1065/Snowman.jpeg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="737" data-original-width="1065" height="442" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNq0PRaUWO_YgRYOh1acy4LDoTvTIn9ycm61iDWkmZxLQWhTlnRUkQuVdS4ojRh7BioQjiu-5-3vO25aqXlsNjRRKVdjD_Ys2aTLiFNVmoHLC6xFU0QW5o4c_p5N3LlYtSuDvbCjmc7hM2g_a9KqBR-x7CiR5ZVdbvnq7S0H7ys_10_p6MrLATxnI-58g/w640-h442/Snowman.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">I went with an A7 size for the card because I loved all of the papers that Barb included and wanted to use each of them. Speaking of love, how about that snowman? Isn't he the cutest guy?</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">The snowman image is called "Frosty Flakes" by Penny Black. Patterned papers are from the Winter Magic series by Echo Park Paper. Gorgeous!</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">Barb also gave us the cute little snowflake embellishments. I added a sentiment that is gold embossed and die cut from The "Christmas Sentiments" stamp and die set by PinkFresh Studio.</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-ddxMFT-1NPx0XLmODsMLbw6YI6O9AE46x5yhUd3qHszakUP09FaIJYnsXc0txqi7ntxfap-KTU-onpqOIVKNTmPXfgLvKMjbs83ym3YJg7AuQk6sA_BRCbK91limETjXrqnXAkdVtRQvaABaV9byxfvGI-ncjeRqqaI-_YzY4ZwlTrtv1YkiaLIGiog/s4032/CloseUp.jpeg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2526" data-original-width="4032" height="250" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-ddxMFT-1NPx0XLmODsMLbw6YI6O9AE46x5yhUd3qHszakUP09FaIJYnsXc0txqi7ntxfap-KTU-onpqOIVKNTmPXfgLvKMjbs83ym3YJg7AuQk6sA_BRCbK91limETjXrqnXAkdVtRQvaABaV9byxfvGI-ncjeRqqaI-_YzY4ZwlTrtv1YkiaLIGiog/w400-h250/CloseUp.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana;"><p><br /></p><p>Here's a close up to show that entire card face has been shimmered up using Glimmer mist by A Muse Studio.</p></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">The image is colored with Castle Premium Soft pencils. We are to make any sort of card we like, as long as a mess is made in the process. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">This month I decided to use some of Simon Hurley's amazing Lunar Pastes. These are super creamy and have a smooth texture, dry fast and are really fun to work with.</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvKJ9zn6toSfCOGZhHEJ0dMSQZ8a6Hg4xmbvRXwZ81eCdbGlLPB1c0N6lMwFmBgaiTyF6wKLS0wKPDwNVPViX93ZOYMp-1SlYmcRXuu78EEnE9NZb9VdU2u5o8GrWAclOMQKN3DEPArhnNeRJg4ea7W5yfsDXgQob4hDu1X6DXK-2DLSYrIwCSNGPp7so/s3551/FF8506C4-2ACE-41AD-AAA4-7C868731A7E8_1_201_a.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3551" data-original-width="2714" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvKJ9zn6toSfCOGZhHEJ0dMSQZ8a6Hg4xmbvRXwZ81eCdbGlLPB1c0N6lMwFmBgaiTyF6wKLS0wKPDwNVPViX93ZOYMp-1SlYmcRXuu78EEnE9NZb9VdU2u5o8GrWAclOMQKN3DEPArhnNeRJg4ea7W5yfsDXgQob4hDu1X6DXK-2DLSYrIwCSNGPp7so/w306-h400/FF8506C4-2ACE-41AD-AAA4-7C868731A7E8_1_201_a.jpeg" width="306" /></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Here's my finished card.</span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">The die is a cutting plate Called Kaleidoscope by Taylored Expressions.<br /><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">The sentiment is from Fancy Phrases stamp and die set by Gina K Designs.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">The white card base has been sponged with 3 colors of Lunar Paste:<br /><br /></span></p><p></p><ul style="text-align: left;"><li><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Tater Gator (green)</span></li><li><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Triple Berry (magenta)</span></li><li><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Slippery When Wet (gold)</span></li></ul><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">I used domed foam daubers to apply the paste. My go-to mat for this type of thing is actually an oven liner. Easy clean up and it provides a large work surface.</span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">The back panel of the folded card base is masked off, which also keeps it from sliding around when blending.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">The Lunar Paste washed out of the foam domes rather easily with dishsoap and water. The silicone mat wiped clean with a damp rag.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">I ended up making 6 of these for a swap on Split Coast. I do think if I had used Solar Paste instead of the Lunar Paste the colors would have been more vivid behind the blue kaleidoscope panel. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">These pastes are really fun to work with and not so messy that I get stressed out, hahahahaha.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Be sure to stop by the Hot Mess Team and admire their creations! We take turns creating the challenge and then each of us has to create a card according to the criteria established by the host. It's always fun to see what everyone comes up with.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">September's challenge is the brain child of Jeanette. She sent each of us a die called "Stitched Scallop Edge" by Your Next Stamp. However...our challenge is to NOT use it as a die. Hmmmmm </span><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: large;">🤔</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">After some false starts I came up with an idea. Use the die as a stamp to create an image. Here's my card:</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDs6OyF9tn0YY8o30C4U1lUeG-9LsumXPVzQ_L7Pp19ID6oFF2O9xBj-v--9PZIG3BdiGC9KGshvAMuN99k8XzMUMaahnATGwwQ8hXzLdRokkHafVwVJmA5EdxzR8uLcdsE9rucZBMwDwWWSmUy8KLtsrQWySgXIdAfQDM3A2lP9zorTX12aiucmjzBm8/s1004/BFF8EC2F-3464-4B20-9099-E3A2F38AC060_1_105_c.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="782" data-original-width="1004" height="498" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDs6OyF9tn0YY8o30C4U1lUeG-9LsumXPVzQ_L7Pp19ID6oFF2O9xBj-v--9PZIG3BdiGC9KGshvAMuN99k8XzMUMaahnATGwwQ8hXzLdRokkHafVwVJmA5EdxzR8uLcdsE9rucZBMwDwWWSmUy8KLtsrQWySgXIdAfQDM3A2lP9zorTX12aiucmjzBm8/w640-h498/BFF8EC2F-3464-4B20-9099-E3A2F38AC060_1_105_c.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">The background is a stencil called "Mini Butterfly Meadow" by Jaime Echt of The Crafter's Workshop. Inks were applied using blending brushes.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">The die is inked with "Grass Green" ink by Gina K Designs and stamped onto white card stock. Then the die is inked a second time and flipped around to stamp the underside of the inch worm. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">He was then sponged with the same ink and the stencil placed over him to create the grass along his body. </span><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">The inch worm was cut by hand, a tiny brown gem created his eye, and he is popped up with some foam tape.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">My first ideas were to try to make a flower out of the die, by cutting it into segments and arranging them into a circle. I'm glad that I tried to do it with pencil and scrap paper before jumping in and cutting apart the die. It didn't work (or I couldn't make it work hahaha) so I would have ruined the die for nothing.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Thank you Jeanette for such a fun and unique challenge this month!</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Hop on over to admire the rest of the cards from The Creative Crew:</span></p><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;"><p><span style="color: #38761d; font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><span style="background-color: white; text-align: center;">Barb - </span><a href="https://inkingintoretirement.blogspot.com/" style="background-color: white; font-weight: bold; text-align: center; text-decoration-line: none;" target="_blank">Barb's Inkin' In Retirement</a></span></p></blockquote><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;"><p><span style="color: #38761d; font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><span style="background-color: white; text-align: center;">Carol - </span><a href="https://lostinmycraftroom.blogspot.com/" style="background-color: white; font-weight: bold; text-align: center; text-decoration-line: none;" target="_blank">Lost in My Craft Room</a></span></p></blockquote><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;"><p><span style="color: #38761d; font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><span style="background-color: white; text-align: center;">Jeanette - </span><a href="https://www.cre8tiveplay.com/" style="background-color: white; font-weight: bold; text-align: center; text-decoration-line: none;" target="_blank">Cre8tive Play</a></span></p></blockquote><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;"><p><span style="color: #38761d; font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><span style="background-color: white; text-align: center;">Lorraine - </span><a href="https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=209466" rel="nofollow" style="background-color: white; font-weight: bold; text-align: center; text-decoration-line: none;" target="_blank">SCS Gallery</a></span></p></blockquote><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;"><p><span style="color: #38761d; font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><span style="background-color: white; text-align: center;">Terry - </span><a href="https://itstotallyterry.blogspot.com/" style="background-color: white; font-weight: bold; text-align: center; text-decoration-line: none;" target="_blank">It's Totally Terry</a></span></p></blockquote><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #38761d; text-align: center;">Tracie - </span><a href="https://tracie-craftycreations.blogspot.com/" style="background-color: white; font-weight: bold; text-align: center; text-decoration-line: none;" target="_blank">Crafty Creations by Tracie</a></span></blockquote>Darlene LeTavechttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12941648134001889097noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5157808891626358765.post-50050943193964443612023-08-14T21:00:00.004-07:002023-08-14T21:00:00.135-07:00Creative Crew's August Duel!<p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Today is the 15th and it's time for me to post my Creative Crew Card! I'm getting set up (slowly) in my apartment...moving takes time. It feels good to finally make a card, it's only been since May 😉.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">This month's challenge is hosted by Lovely Lorraine and she has chosen two of her favorite things: Wreaths and Gingerbread People! Here's my card:</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg52p_3BPY9TG99H2uzbr8arI9SyWBzFxqCgTetjSZmnUvrggu4ZUS_QDs2GTEvuUuxuv581DapqPytSaaDxIf1L4RICks7gZwfQJl_8S-zWETW_ds7WdPkp0mJ5u6LXRB4GDmnQ2HLi28UmmJ3tBt3U4QOlSNhVyRVjh0G8LT1ZvxmulQECVFlu-Nb3M/s994/F5476C7C-DC9C-43EF-AAD7-0CD29C3FC66A_1_105_c.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="994" data-original-width="790" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg52p_3BPY9TG99H2uzbr8arI9SyWBzFxqCgTetjSZmnUvrggu4ZUS_QDs2GTEvuUuxuv581DapqPytSaaDxIf1L4RICks7gZwfQJl_8S-zWETW_ds7WdPkp0mJ5u6LXRB4GDmnQ2HLi28UmmJ3tBt3U4QOlSNhVyRVjh0G8LT1ZvxmulQECVFlu-Nb3M/w318-h400/F5476C7C-DC9C-43EF-AAD7-0CD29C3FC66A_1_105_c.jpeg" width="318" /></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Lorraine's kit had so much goodness in it, I wanted to use it all. We are a group of friends who attend several virtual events together, and each of us subscribes to various monthly card kits. We decided to designate the last day of each month as our Catch Up Day! </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">The idea is to go through our stash and create a card from an unfinished kit, class or subscription. </span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhgVnXHHr7xE648dyClQupGJGtFm1XYqoaNn2ZSSFBZmXblXvsglPTph_bndGgSJNA5uI60T6uaLdbvzHKmOhbGkzmy0Ncd6JhVoRlGG3ZtYRACbcpDa2Z0NLhu6uCK86LFIvSfiBIn7FJAIG6G41qNkkwdOar55pOaZlZIum-mIdkToUpyd-6UjpO/s999/2B460EE1-2B1E-4DE6-9677-516D222ED9CF_1_105_c.jpeg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="999" data-original-width="787" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhgVnXHHr7xE648dyClQupGJGtFm1XYqoaNn2ZSSFBZmXblXvsglPTph_bndGgSJNA5uI60T6uaLdbvzHKmOhbGkzmy0Ncd6JhVoRlGG3ZtYRACbcpDa2Z0NLhu6uCK86LFIvSfiBIn7FJAIG6G41qNkkwdOar55pOaZlZIum-mIdkToUpyd-6UjpO/w315-h400/2B460EE1-2B1E-4DE6-9677-516D222ED9CF_1_105_c.jpeg" width="315" /></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">This month I chose two cards from a fantastic virtual event that we attend, Create & Connect by Pinkfresh Studio. The classes were held February 25-26, 2023. </span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">These cards were in a class taught by Heather Hoffman and feature their "Farm Fresh" stamps, dies and layering stencils.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Both cards also used their "Rounded and Braided Rectangles" dies. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">This card shows the fine detail of the die cut and I included a pale blue panel on the inside to highlight it.</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju0rCuiW-UkINzrbTMKtbIn9YRi7SXpqlw_-xg6AnPaUESi2iSfNq85WvvlLGTBh--LNOOj_aY-zyH-YkcHNfDwP_57DQq7W78RmSGWoMClHqtRc9Zbm-eUZflQbW2yfoK_z2oQh5VkWn3PFjXVPujVtvownUj2bJNpEqxTp6oahPZLnZRLmnlLUq2/s992/89574673-0722-456B-9014-EE3365DF168F_1_105_c.jpeg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="992" data-original-width="792" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju0rCuiW-UkINzrbTMKtbIn9YRi7SXpqlw_-xg6AnPaUESi2iSfNq85WvvlLGTBh--LNOOj_aY-zyH-YkcHNfDwP_57DQq7W78RmSGWoMClHqtRc9Zbm-eUZflQbW2yfoK_z2oQh5VkWn3PFjXVPujVtvownUj2bJNpEqxTp6oahPZLnZRLmnlLUq2/w319-h400/89574673-0722-456B-9014-EE3365DF168F_1_105_c.jpeg" width="319" /></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: large;">For this card, you use one of the dies and cut a mask for the card front. On the 22nd of the month (note the double in the date) we have a predetermined stamp company or theme, and we are to make 2 different cards, using the same stamp set and as many of the same elements on each card. Creating as many doubles as we can.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">This month we feature any stamp set by Pinkfresh Studios. I used "Handpicked Flowers" stamps, dies, and stencils.</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVmFrcHMwRt2vh_NjEW-tGlRGKp90kMKTHvq7oLfKKM4pBw7NYC6HdXjNMefim2TE2gD7VSt_rgf8WRjlih9esHxgFp4wVxNjTHfsm03CdWHMV57cy6drSx5zC83Dq0wmBlydGqS_pPM_9EbhtLRhiOju_YWgcQ6lP79-X2OOJ1S82ViHq6eJuOuEl/s1001/A9D1CD08-0706-483D-B32D-62613BCBA06A_1_105_c.jpeg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1001" data-original-width="785" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVmFrcHMwRt2vh_NjEW-tGlRGKp90kMKTHvq7oLfKKM4pBw7NYC6HdXjNMefim2TE2gD7VSt_rgf8WRjlih9esHxgFp4wVxNjTHfsm03CdWHMV57cy6drSx5zC83Dq0wmBlydGqS_pPM_9EbhtLRhiOju_YWgcQ6lP79-X2OOJ1S82ViHq6eJuOuEl/w314-h400/A9D1CD08-0706-483D-B32D-62613BCBA06A_1_105_c.jpeg" width="314" /></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">My first card is created by gold embossing the image, die cutting it and then blending inks onto it using the layering stencils.</span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">I used "Ornate Banners" dies by Pinkfresh Studios to cut two background layers. The pale yellow has a little ink blended around the edges to give it more definition. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">The sentiment is also by Pinkfresh and is part of their Foiled Sentiments pack. Today is the 12th and it's time for another Hot Mess = Success card. The challenge is to make any sort of card, as long as it is messy during the creation process. Doesn't really matter <i>how</i> messy, or if anyone else considers it messy...just as long as <i>you</i> consider it messy. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Here's my card:</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP7ZYB8FYHnEpJTtporS8deMaCLkfrY4iszSq1ev-pv-GIRDBcaeJGO17VBVzjzs2YI7NoKzBZPgG_d0xSR8XNR8Vh_vyolSesiJr1_fcn-qiuzdppCnp7JParorbj0T5mPmTKocBHBTItBb2ryGIRNESprG85pL4vel1hvfEYbAi1q-IGcKCzrbSt/s1032/296E3FC8-18BE-44B5-BF54-25D0E7874F33_1_105_c.jpeg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="761" data-original-width="1032" height="472" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP7ZYB8FYHnEpJTtporS8deMaCLkfrY4iszSq1ev-pv-GIRDBcaeJGO17VBVzjzs2YI7NoKzBZPgG_d0xSR8XNR8Vh_vyolSesiJr1_fcn-qiuzdppCnp7JParorbj0T5mPmTKocBHBTItBb2ryGIRNESprG85pL4vel1hvfEYbAi1q-IGcKCzrbSt/w640-h472/296E3FC8-18BE-44B5-BF54-25D0E7874F33_1_105_c.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /><span style="font-size: medium;">This card features a navy blue panel that has had Simon Hurley's Lunar Paste applied using a Hero Arts Stencil. What's that, you ask? A group of friends and I were lamenting about how many kits and classes that we are behind in. So we decided that the last day of the month we would post a newly completed card from a kit or a class.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">So...without any further delays...here are my Catch Up cards for March:</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK2QEleJMFsz0I7p9e1oRrdfej1wF0Id8xogwU5831v1uyClxC_8ELR3hbGoQDDvFfpWTbBEHPcRqQ-D969zYHWPhyb6R4UfkXxplV8ISzwDJS-WDgNIkRRrr5rT6fE270MGGc21uz6PJoerhHMF3C9Vmd3QsT4HijVwajpccA_91LStMuyzljrApx/s1024/1329CF4F-854A-4EFC-A9D8-3BEA6B45187A_1_105_c.jpeg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="768" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK2QEleJMFsz0I7p9e1oRrdfej1wF0Id8xogwU5831v1uyClxC_8ELR3hbGoQDDvFfpWTbBEHPcRqQ-D969zYHWPhyb6R4UfkXxplV8ISzwDJS-WDgNIkRRrr5rT6fE270MGGc21uz6PJoerhHMF3C9Vmd3QsT4HijVwajpccA_91LStMuyzljrApx/w300-h400/1329CF4F-854A-4EFC-A9D8-3BEA6B45187A_1_105_c.jpeg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><br /><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Both cards are created from the "Let's Stamp Together" kit sent back in May of 2022.</span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">The kit is called "Petal Prints" by Concord & 9th.
